Broadwater Project
Knock Down Rebuild & Heritage Renovation – Runaway Bay
The Broadwater Project is more than just a renovation — it’s a story of trust, vision, and transformation. For the clients, the dream was to preserve the integrity of a Queenslander while blending it with bold, modern design. What could have been two separate homes now feels like one seamless residence, a place neighbours stop to admire and friends struggle to fault.
Built on transparency, warmth, and genuine connection, the journey was as memorable as the finished home itself. As the clients shared, “They don’t just build homes — they build relationships first, and then they build homes.” The Broadwater Project stands not only as a revival of heritage but as a reflection of what’s possible when passion, honesty, and partnership guide every decision.

Awarding Winning Broadwater Project
The Broadwater Project is a true showcase of how heritage and modern design can come together to create something extraordinary. For the clients, the dream was to protect the character of a Queenslander while blending it with the boldness of ultra-modern design — and to make the two feel like one seamless home. Recognised with the 2025 Master Builders Award for Home Renovation Project from $1 to $2 Million, this Runaway Bay residence began with the relocation of a classic Queenslander, transported in two halves from Ipswich and carefully reassembled with integrity at its core.
Every decision was shaped around honesty, collaboration, and detail. From restoring stained glass windows and replicating traditional wall boards to introducing a striking rear pavilion with spa, bar, and fire pit, the home now balances authenticity with coastal luxury. As the clients shared, “They don’t just build homes — they build relationships first, and then they build homes.” For them, the experience was as meaningful as the result: a home that feels timeless, personal, and filled with warmth.

Before & After
Honouring the Heritage
Before the Broadwater Project began, the Queenslander existed in Ipswich, standing as a reminder of classic craftsmanship but limited by its original location and condition. To breathe new life into it, the home was carefully cut into two sections, transported, and reassembled on its new Runaway Bay site.
Throughout the relocation, every detail of the original home was respected and embraced. Stained glass windows were dismantled and restored, traditional wall boards were replicated with custom tooling, and heritage profiles like dado rails, skirting, and cornices were reinstated to preserve its architectural integrity. These thoughtful measures ensured the Queenslander’s historic character wasn’t just retained but celebrated.
